Mango wood salad servers with olives L: 28,5 cm

The beautiful products, which are food-safe, are made in India, where mango wood is used for various utility items.

When the mango tree stops bearing fruit after 10-15 years, it no longer has much value because it doesn’t yield crops, and previously, plantations were burned down to make room for new trees. At some point, however, it was discovered that the wood, with its beautiful color variations and water-repellent qualities, could be used for furniture and other utility items. Over the years, this has led to the emergence of small industries in local areas of India, where the wood is processed into beautiful bowls like the ones I’m showing here.

The cutlery is not dishwasher safe.
