By chance, I heard about a family-run toy factory in a small village, Yabluniv, near the Carpathian Mountains in western Ukraine—one of the greenest places in Europe.
When I was introduced to their beautiful products, it didn’t take long for me to decide that we had to include them in our range. Especially because these are environmentally friendly and educational wooden toys, designed to promote children’s cognitive development and motor skills through healthy, natural, and meaningful play.
Everything is made from wood sourced from sustainable forests in the Carpathian Mountains. The forests are certified, ensuring that no more wood is harvested than nature can regenerate.
The preferred woods are beech and maple, both very hard types of wood. This means the toys are less likely to get dents, cracks, or splinters. They can withstand being dropped on the floor!
In addition, beech and maple have light, uniform surfaces, making them easy to paint. At the same time, you can still see the natural grain of the wood through the paint.
The paint is completely natural and chemical-free, making it safe if young children suck or chew on the pieces. The color does not rub off and is also bite-resistant.
Finally, it should be mentioned that all parts are finely sanded and the edges are softly rounded.
