Elves have always held a special place in my heart, and the charming Ribenisser from Ib Laursen are certainly no exception.

These little elves are full of personality and have the loveliest, nostalgic look that fits perfectly with a cozy Danish Christmas. There’s something truly special about them—perhaps because they feel both familiar and each has its own little quirk.

Each Ribenisse has its own name, age, and story. Take Alva, for example, who is 314 Christmas Eves old. She lives in a backyard close to Ribe’s smallest house and has a habit of wrapping a present every Christmas, which she places under the tree before anyone notices. She especially loves the sound of ribbon being pulled off and the little gasp when a gift is opened. For Alva, the best Christmas present is the one that makes people smile.
