Small mango wood bowl with monstera motif Ø: 18 cm H: 7,5 cm

The beautiful products, which are food-safe, are made in India, where mango wood is used for various utility items.

When the mango tree stops bearing fruit after 10-15 years, it no longer has much value because it doesn’t yield produce, and previously, plantations were burned down to make room for new trees. At some point, however, it was discovered that the wood, with its beautiful color variations and water-resistant qualities, could be used for furniture and other utility items. Over the years, this has led to the development of small industries in local areas of India, where the wood is processed into beautiful bowls like the ones I’m showing here.

The bowl is not dishwasher safe.
