There is not only something very attractive – but also magical – about an open flame. Flames speak to the primal human in us!
I am very taken with this stylish flame lamp from the German company Höfats. It can be used both outdoors and indoors.
The special design, which lets air in from below, creates a flame rotation using the convection effect, which makes the flame rise and boosts it by 500%.
The lamp consists of a base, a cup/burner for fuel, and a glass tube (made of borosilicate glass).
The fuel is Höfats liquid bioethanol, Bioethanol 6 litres. This ensures a clean flame that is completely soot- and odor-free. IMPORTANT: If another brand is used, the warranty is void.
The cup can hold 200 ml of Höfats bioethanol with a burn time of just over 2 hours if the small included ring is placed over the burner, see the video. Using this gives a slightly lower flame. If you want a really high flame, leave out the ring. In this case, the burn time is about 95 minutes.
After that, the cup needs to be refilled. Here, it can be an advantage to have an extra cup, see Cup/burner for table fire. It is important that the cup is cold when refilled with bioethanol.
NB: If the flame lamp is used outdoors, we recommend bringing it inside when not in use. Especially during damp periods.
The flame lamp also provides heat – up to 1100 watts.
