Mango wood salad servers with olives L: 28 cm

The beautiful products, which are food-safe, are made in India, where mango wood is used for various utility items.

When the mango tree stops bearing fruit after 10-15 years, it no longer has much value because it doesn’t yield any more crops, and therefore, plantations were previously burned down to make room for new trees. At some point, however, it was discovered that the wood, with its beautiful color variations and water-repellent qualities, could be used for, among other things, furniture and other utility items. Over the years, small industries have thus emerged in local areas of India, where the wood is processed into, among other things, beautiful bowls like the ones I show here.
