Game rules

Pippi Longstocking is Astrid Lindgren’s strong, imaginative, and very special girl with the red braids, who lives in Villa Villekulla together with her horse and the monkey Mr. Nilsson. The first book about Pippi was published in 1945, and since then the free-spirited, brave, and imaginative Pippi has delighted generations of children all over the world.

The distinctive illustrations by Ingrid Vang Nyman are an important part of the Pippi universe. She is considered the original and, for many, the “real” Pippi illustrator, because it was her drawings that gave Pippi the iconic look with the red braids, freckles, big shoes, and confident expression. With her colorful, simple, and modern style, she created a visual universe full of humor, energy, and personality, which is still inextricably linked to Astrid Lindgren’s stories about Pippi.
